Extract from Deed of Trust entered into by the Taku Tug and Lighter Company (Limited) on behalf of the Holders of Debentures issued 1898.

THIS Indenture, made the 1st day of November, 1904, between the Taku Tug and Lighter Company (Limited) (hereinafter called "the Company"), of the one part, and Augustus William Harvey Bellingham, engineer to the British Municipal Council at Tien-tsin, in the Empire of China, and Henry William Walker, of Tien-tsin aforesaid (hereinafter called "the trustees"), of the other part: Whereas the Company, on the 26th day of November, 1897, determined to raise money by the issue of debentures, in accordance with the form in that behalf set forth in the first schedule hereto annexed, and further to secure such debentures in manner hereinafter appearing, now these presents witness and declare as follows:-

1, 2, and 3.

4. The Company, as beneficial owner, doth hereby assign unto the present trustees all the goods and chattels, including the tug tow-boats and lighters not registered as British ships, and all personal property whatsoever that belonged to the Company on the 17th day of March, 1898, and any money that may have been or may hereafter be received in place of the same, or any part or parts thereof, to hold the same unto the present trustees.

5. The Company, in consideration of the sum of 250,000 taels paid or to be paid by the said debenture holders, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, transfer sixty-four shares in each of the ships particularly described in the fourth schedule hereto, and in their boats and appurtenances, to the said trustees. Further, the said Company, for itself and successors, covenant with the said trustees and their assigns that the Company has power to transfer in manner aforesaid the premises hereinbefore expressed to be transferred, and that the same are free from incumbrances.
